Our day....................

Our day started early this morning. We were at the surgery center by 7 am for Ethan's hernia operation. He had a large hernia repair with a hydrocele on the right and we chose to explore the left side. A good decision, he had a small hernia on the left side which they also repaired. We returned back home around 10:30 am. Ethan slept most of the afternoon, but as you can see from the previous post he isn't holding back. He is moving around like he wasn't even operated on. The biggest problem is trying to keep the other two from getting on him and playing like they often like to do. Ethan had the surgery center staff amazed because he never cried once. They all kept speaking of how stoic he was. I guess he gets it honest. Over the weekend I was told he and I are a lot alike. Hard to impress. Out of three I had to have one like me.

Nicole and I are glad the day is over. Everyone is in bed, dishes are done, and laundry is not piled as high as it was. A triumphant day.

Now maybe they won't be at my feet when I am in the kitchen. Yeah right. They will still want to be there to know what is going on. They are very curious. They are enjoying their kitchen though. We bought this kitchen a couple years ago for $40.00 on clearance. I think they are normally $150 or more. What a buy.

October 25th, 2010 1st Birthday...................

We survived the birthday party...............

We survived the party on Saturday. A great big thank you to everyone that helped with the party. It took a lot of work and effort, but it turned out really nice.

Ethan didn't feel well at the party. They did really well for having their schedules disrupted. They are use to laying down for naps in the afternoon, but couldn't due to the party in the afternoon. Fortunately for us they went to bed fairly easy that night. However, in the middle of the night Ethan and Olivia both woke up. I ended up on the couch with him and Olivia and Nicole stayed in the bed.

We were planning on taking the trio to Toys R Us today to get a gift from Dad and Mom but we are going to wait until Saturday to get them something. Today was their actual birthday, we went for a spin in the new Choo Choo wagon in the backyard. We attached our Happy Birthday balloons to the wagon and went around and took pics.

I hope to get up birthday photos tomorrow.

1st pony ride.....................

We went to the Right Thing Pumpkinpalooza party two weekends ago. The trio had their first pony rides. They didn't seem to think much one way or the other about it. Luckily for us, the neighbors next to Nicole's grandparents house have a pony and have invited us over next summer to ride the pony.

Olivia update......................

We made it home at 5:30 am Tuesday. We grabbed a few hours of rest and then went off to work. Olivia has Croup, pharyngitis, and upper respiratory infection. She had seen our family Dr early Monday and was on antibiotics, but as the night went on she became worse and worse. So at 11:30 pm Monday we were off to the ER. She is doing better today, and the boys so far are ok.

We have struggled with the party this Saturday as whether to have it or not. At this point we are showing improvement with Olivia and are planning to host. However, there will no touching of the kids at the party because we do not want to run the risk of catching another bug. We are at a high risk of RSV which is deadly to a preemie. As soon as the party is over we are officially going into our winter hibernation mode.

The party! People have been asking what to get them and what sizes they wear, they have a wish list at Toys R Us. The boys are both in 18 months and Olivia is in 12 months for the winter. If buying for the next summer, please buy up sized appropriately. We do ask that you provide gift receipts if at all possible because kids clothes run odd among sizes. One brands 12 months may fit great and then the next brands 12 months may be too small. Olivia wore 6-9 months clothes while we were in Florida. We hope to see everyone that has RSVP'd to the party. Those of you that have RSVP'd may be eligible for a special gift at the party.

Has been a long night and quite a lot going on in Findlay's ER tonight. The staff is amazed that it is such a robust night for a Monday.

Just had swab for RSV and getting blood draw and IV fluids. Its gonna be a long nite :(

The chest x-ray looked like something from Silence of the Lambs. Poor little Olivia screamed the entire time. There is another kid here that is not happy at all

Olivia has had 2 breathing treatments and 2 chest x-rays. Waiting for results. Everyone has been very nice so far.

Worst of all we are in the room Paul (Nicole's grandfather) was in when they brought him to ER when he had his stroke. Life really stinks right now.

Not sure if she will be staying the night tonight or not.
