The dresser is painted.

The large dresser is now painted. It turned out really good. Hopefully tomorrow we will get the smaller one finished. I am beginning to think about furniture placement for the rooms. It will help once the rooms are painted and I can actually place the furniture throughout the room. We have a lot of work to do, but I am confident that things will come together very shortly.

We see our regular OB this Tuesday. Hopefully we are maintaining the status quo. Next week on the 9th we go to the specialist in Toledo. I just pray that Nicole won't have to stay at the hospital.

Our cake from the baby shower!!!!!

Today was our Church's baby shower, we received a lot of gifts. The party was nice and the food was good. It was a co-ed baby shower. I had never been to a baby shower before. I lost one of the games that I was sure I was going to win. It was a "baby" game where you couldn't say the word baby. If you caught a person saying the word, you got their clothes pins that they may have on them. There were dots on the clothes pins and the person with the most dots wins. I had the most clothes pins, but lost by two lousy points. We were truly blessed to have such warm thoughts and gifts given to us. Now, I get to try to organize all this stuff.

This evening I bought paint and began to paint the dressers with the help of Patsy (my mother in-law). We have the dressers primed and ready for the top coat. I hope to get the top coat on tomorrow. Next weekend the plan is to get Olivia's room primed.
My dad was at my house this morning and took measurements to make new steps for our front door. Our front door only has one step and it is a little difficult to get into our house. Nicole's grandparents, mom, and aunts have been coming in the daytime and giving her lunch while I am at work. The grandparents have trouble getting in and out of the house. While he was here this morning we ordered the last bed for the boys room. In a few days it should be here.
Aidan (our nephew) stayed the night with us tonight. He thinks we should name the kids Skywalker, Scooby-Doo, and Shaggy. We told him those can be his nicknames for them.
Check back soon and maybe I will have some photos of the shower.

24 weeks today

Today is 24 weeks. Hooray!!!!! Not much has happened this week, it has been a very busy week. I did not accomplish much on the baby front. Our church is having a baby shower for us on Saturday. I hope Nikki will be ok going. She has been on bed rest for the last two weeks. We have a really comfortable chair for her to sit in and we don't plan on staying for very long.

Tomorrow is 24 weeks. The viability point, every week after now is great. I believe around week 28 if they were born then, they would have a 95% survival rate. We are doing well. Tired but we are getting geared up for that.

We received the double stroller today with the two car seats. Put it all together and did a dry run in the car to make sure they all fit...............................they all fit. Whew!!!!! Will have photos soon of me with the new double stroller and what our car will look like once we have our three little babies with us.

I hope everyone is enjoying the photos I put up recently of the babies. They are doing really good. Nikki got a very good report at her appointment today. We see the MFM (maternal fetal medicine) specialist on September 9th. Hopefully she gets to spend more time with me at home and doesn't have to go to the hospital to stay yet.

Send us your good thoughts and prayers.

Getting ready for babies........

We have been slowly preparing for the debut. Our families have been very generous with getting things we will need for the babies. We have two of the needed three cribs. The other crib is not currently in stock and we are waiting for it to get back in stock. Hopefully!

You need quite a bit for just one baby.... now multiply everything times three. Nikki and I have been picking up a few things as we find them. We picked up a dresser for Olivia for $51.00. A really good buy. Originally it was $300.00.

She has been on me to get painting. All I have to do is prime Olivia's bedroom. The people that lived here before had their daughter in the room and it is a brown color. I have a good friend of ours who is a professional painter that is going to do the final painting. We also have two of Nicole's old dressers that we are going to paint white and use in the boys room. The boys theme is a blue Nautica theme and the girls is some sort of flower type theme. It involves green and pink.

When we first found out........

I had my first ultrasound around six weeks and I was very excited for it. Harold and I go to the appointment get in the ultrasound room, and soon it was underway. The ultrasound had no more than started and the sonographer lets out a little chuckle. I said, "What?!?" She said, "There are babies." Harold I thought was going to fall off the stool he was sitting on. He said, "You said babies, as in plural?" Kristin (our favorite ultrasound gal) said, "There are three of them, one, two, three", as she showed us on the screen. I turned to look at Harold who I thought would drop to the floor at this point. He was grinning from ear to ear. He began asking the dumbest questions I thought I had ever heard. I earned myself a lot of u/s (ultrasounds) Kristin said.

The u/s ended and we approached the desk to make another appointment, we find everyone in the office staring at us with the biggest smiles. They were all very excited for us. One lady said, "Well he doesn't look like he is going to pass out, but he does look a little bewildered." We made the appointment and left the office.

We left the office in shock and amazement. The news of triplets was the most shocking news I think we ever could have gotten. I never in a million years would have thought that I would have triplets. Twins maybe, but never triplets.
